چکیده

The Government of the Indonesian Republic has targeted an increase in value shrimp exports and production until 250% by 2024. Thus, a special strategy is needed to develop whiteleg (Litopenaeus vannamei) culture that can but does not negatively impact aquatic environment. For this reason, research was carried out obtain for developing sustainable intensive/super-intensive technology South Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. activity conducted Province from March July 2021. data were collected questionnaires submitted respondents or actors, namely brackishwater pond managers other stakeholders structured observations on ponds. validity questionnaire tested using Corrected Item-Total Correlation method reliability Cronbach’s alpha method. Another primary source obtained through Focus Group Discussion. Data analysis undertaken Analytical Hierarchy Process results show that, 18 farming businesses operating Bulukumba, Je’neponto, Takalar Regencies, only one whitleg business applies super-intensive technology. main problems are disease attacks, acute hepatopancreatic necrosis early mortality syndrome white feces inconsistent quality seed. Among four criteria studied, it found environmental factor most influential culture. seven alternative strategies, order priority strategies protection culture, management areas, modern technological innovation, environmentally friendly technology, easy access capital, improvement human resources, availability facilities.

Carbohydrate Moieties and Cytoenzymatic Characterization of Hemocytes in Whiteleg Shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

Hemocytes represent one of the most important defense mechanisms against foreign material in Crustacea and are also involved in a variety of other physiological responses. Fluorescent lectin-binding assays and cytochemical reactions were used to identify specificity and distribution of carbohydrate moieties and presence of several hydrolytic enzymes, in hemocytes of whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus ...

Probiotics in the intestinal tract of juvenile whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei: modulation of the bacterial community.

Molecular analysis of the 16S rDNA of the intestinal microbiota of whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei was examined to investigate the effect of a Bacillus mix (Bacillus endophyticus YC3-b, Bacillus endophyticus C2-2, Bacillus tequilensisYC5-2) and the commercial probiotic (Alibio(®)) on intestinal bacterial communities and resistance to Vibrio infection. PCR and single strain conformation pol...

Transcriptomic responses of juvenile Pacific whiteleg shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei, to hypoxia and hypercapnic hypoxia.

Estuarine crustaceans are often exposed to low dissolved O2 (hypoxia) accompanied by elevated CO2 (hypercapnia), which lowers water pH. Acclimatory responses to hypoxia have been widely characterized; responses to hypercapnia in combination with hypoxia (hypercapnic hypoxia) are less well known. Here we used oligonucleotide microarrays to characterize changes in global gene expression in the he...

Aquacultural importance of the integumental pore pattern in postlarval whiteleg shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei (Decapoda: Penaeidae).

The analysis of integumental pore pattern has identified two intraspecific groups of postlarval shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei (Boone, 1931), a species of which three to five natural populations or groups are expected to be found from Mexico to Peru. Natural distribution and man-made redistributions have not been typified on a population basis in any penaeid, but it is important to do so in this c...
